The Shark Injector is a simple module that reprograms the ECU and is reversible. I purchased it and the companion cold air intake from Turner Motorsport .

The under side of the Shark Injector shows how it plugs into the circular OBD port under the Z3's hood.

The first step for the cold air intake is to remove the factory air intake box. Start by loosening the clamp that holds the mass air-flow (MAF) sensor.

Then pop the bail and disconnect the MAF cable.

Loosen or remove the bolts holding down the factory airbox.

Here is the factory airbox and the attached MAF removed from the Z3.

This is a view forward showing the outlet for incoming fresh air.

Pop the retaining clips to disconnect the MAF from the factory airbox

Here is the Conforti CAI's heat shield and the intake snorkel with the MAF attached.

With the snorkel inserted into the heat shield, it takes some wiggling and maneuvering to get the shield into place.

And here is the CAI's heat shield in position. It's mounting points are fastened to the same bolt locations used by the factory airbox and the MAF is clamped…

Almost done, the ITG foam filter is clamped onto the snorkel.

The final result with the radiator overflow tubing mounted to the side of the heat shield and out of the way.
