1 After Waterton Lakes, it was time to enter the US at the bustling (NOT!) Babb, Montana border crossing on our way to Glacier National Park
2 Telephone poles and snow drift fencing are the only indications of human activity amidst the expanse at the border crossing

4 Our room at Many Glacier Hotel was rustic but very nice. The unusual feature being the wash sink in the bedroom since there was no space for it in the bathroom

6 After settling into our room, it was time to head down to the main lodge and check things out

10 It's always 5 o'clock somewhere and it was definitely that time here. Apparently huckleberries were in season and are featured in almost any drink imaginable, including this huckleberry infused whisky from the local Glacier Distilling Company.
11 And the drinks of the hour were a G&T and a Huckleberry Smash made with Bearproof huckleberry whiskey
12 Being at the 49th paralllel it didn't get dark until 9:30. So after dinner we took a short walk along the shore of Swiftcurrent Lake. I love the graphic depiction of how many bus lengths to stay away from moose and bears 🐻
13 The next sign along the trail was more explicit and I would estimate a good 1/3 of the people we encountered were porting bear spray.

18 As the sun was starting to lower behind the mountains, the skeeters were out in abundance, so time to head back to the hotel in the shadow of the 8000 ft. Altyn Peak.
19 Friday morning we took a 90 minute boat cruise on Swiftcurrent Lake and Lake Josephine
20 Heading southwest towards the other end of Swiftcurrent Lake we got better views of Mount Gould, Grinnell Point, and Mt. Wilbur.
