A private launch wisks us from the airport on Tortola directly to Little Dix Bay on Virgin Gorda
Rum punch is served!
As we arrive, we get a beautiful view of the resort which stretches across the entire bay
Max checks out the brochure of amenities. Notice the back patio of our garden-view room is only 20 steps from the beach!
It was getting late in the day, but we had to check out the beach by our room as the sun went down.
The Pavillion is the less formal of the restaurants. It is also open for breakfast and lunch.
Everybody that has any type of vehicle runs a taxi service in their spare time
On Friday, while Dave went diving, Max took a horticultural tour of the property with Ettien, the head gardener of a staff of 18
Ettien shows an unusual palm tree with different flowers

The aloe grows like weeds and is used in local remedies
We arrive at our room which has no TV and no locks, although the doors can be barred from the inside
The Sugar Mill is the more formal restaurant, open only for dinner
The main bar is attached to The Pavillion
The main pool and the two restaurants are at the center of the resort, elevated and overlooking the bay
On Saturday afternoon, we go to the spa to have our massages
The spa has its own pool on top of a point that looks out at Great Dog island
Max is required to take one spill per vacation. Unfortunately, this time hers was at the spa immediately following our massages. She is left with a couple of bruises and a small cut on the lip.
The main entrance to Little Dix Bay

The main entrance drive leads up from the yacht harbor
Needless to say, we spent a bit of time at the bar!
Super Bowl Sunday and the activity room was setup with extra chairs and the only TVs in the resort
Most days, Max relaxed on the beach just outside our back door
On Monday morning, Max decided we should learn how to sail a Sunfish
After a half hour of that, we traded in for a kayak
