1 Wonderful New Year dinner out at The Essex with dear friends and neighbors Richard and Marge Whitehead
2 The amazing menu that chef Colt Taylor has prepared for us, just hoping we can find enough empty space in our stomachs to enjoy it all! 🥂
3 Scallops that have been lightly cooked in a caviar beurre blanc sauce with yuzu kosho, which is a paste of fermented yuzu peel and chili peppers
4 Lobster over trofie pasta with local Arethusa Europa cheese, similar to aged gouda, and pine nuts
5 Duck breast with madeira sauce accompanied by romanesco broccoli and choux farcis or stuffed cabbage
6 The final main course was Wagyu beef in a perigordine black truffle sauce accompanied by sunchoke purée and a potato pavé
7 The palate cleansing intermezzo was a refreshing granita of champagne and roasted blueberries
8 Dessert was billed as a "Valrhona candy bar" but to us it was just a dense neutron star of intense chocolatiness, yumm!! 😋
