For approximately 3 years starting in June 2007, Northwest Air offered direct flights from Hartford to Amsterdam. This was extremely convenient for my business travel to France and allowed me to spend time exploring the Netherlands at either end of my trip. My trip in April 2008 coincided with the tulip festival at Keukenhof Gardens located in Lisse which is an absolute must-see.
