We started our vacation at the Marriott in Lihue, Kauai
This was the first time staying at the Marriott, which was an exchange for one of our Hanalei timeshare weeks
The view from our room was the resort's private lagoon. The weather was not ideal, due to how early in the season we travelled.
On Tuesday, we flew back to Oahu to spend a couple of days with Deb and Mary. That night we celebrated Deb's birthday at Alan Wong's, one of Honolulu's premier restaurants

Happy Birthday Deb!

Wednesday morning in Deb's kitchen, Max discovers that the coffee du jour is Lez Beans
The cooking begins for the Passover Seder that evening
Chicken soup...
... and matzoh balls!

Our first Hawaiian Passover seder is in the backyard of Nalani and Peaceray's house, in Kailua
Lots of wine bottles at the ready as we start making our way through the Hagaddah

Woody the vegetarian attempts to incinerate our lamb dinner

After Passover, we come back to our timeshare on the North shore of Kauai
The sun sets over Hanalei Bay and the peaks of Bali Hai
Another sunset from the beach in Hanalei
The birds congregate on the bougainvillea surrounding our patio

Max sets out for 9 holes of golf at the Prince course

We wait for our cart, Dave is the driver
It is hard tell, but there is a huge cliff just beyond the green, all the way down to the ocean

Another hole that ends in seaside cliffs. Many balls were lost that day!
In this case, the cliff at the edge of the green leads down to someone's private beachfront compound
Max's foursome
The last Thursday of our vacation we were back at Tunnels Beach when we encountered a Hawaiian monk seal taking a nap
The monk seals are endemic to Hawaii and are endangered. The law to remain 150 feet away from the seals is strictly enforced.
Now that I've made my pillow, I'll lie on it
Friday before we are going to leave, we kept it easy by going down to PuaPoa Beach that is shared by our resort and the Princeville Hotel. It gives a sideways view of Hanalei Bay.
The Hanalei Pier was built in 1892. It is no longer used commercially.

Taro fields in Hanalei Valley
Our final night, we went back to the clubhouse restaurant at the Prince Course for sushi night
We got our table just in time to enjoy our final Hawaiian sunset
