1 Max and I arrived at the Nice airport early on Friday morning, rented a car, drove to Juan Les Pins, checked into our hotel, and walked around the beach checking out the off-season scene.

4 With no business meetings until Monday, Max and I headed to the Chagall Museum in Nice on Saturday morning

11 After lunch we visited the Matisse Museum situatied in the Cimiez section of Nice

13 The Roman arena and olive groves next to the Matisse Museum have been the site of the Nice Jazz festival. Hence the naming of the various walking paths through the gardens.
14 The church Sainte-Marie Des Anges is across the street from the Matisse Museum and is home to a Franciscan monastery.
15 From Nice we took a short drive to the hill village of Èze which has this old Catholic church perched on the cliffside.
16 The picturesque Cimetière de Èze provides sweeping views of the mountains and the Moyenne Corniche in the foreground.
17 Another spectacular view, this time from Èze's exotic succulent and cacti garden. The Moyenne Corniche is to the right and the peninsula of Cap Ferrat is in the distance.
